For 30 years, The Skulls have aimed to inspire and acknowledge the creators of commercial communications in Western Australia, by recognising the individuals who produce the best work of the year.
The PADC is proud to announce that the 2019 Skulls Call for Entry is now open.

After consultation with the local industry, The Skulls have recently updated and refined the Digital Design and Digital Marketing categories to include more flexibility and niche opportunities for Perth’s best digital talent to show off their work.
They’ve also launched this year’s Student Skulls briefs for Design and Advertising and a folio requirement for Student Photography and Student Film categories. Full details are available from the Call to Entry Book. The Student Skulls are open to any currently enrolled or recently graduated student (within 24 months) studying at a Western Australian based tertiary institution, who is not currently employed as a ‘creative’ in the advertising/design/marketing industry (work experience or intern work is fine!).
In recent years, the awards jury has taken an international focus, from Singapore, to Auckland, to Cape Town and now Manchester in the UK. The aim of the Club’s awards is to find creative ‘sister cities’, which share a similar satellite city mentality alongside the major urban centre of the country. Anyone who saw Nkanywzi Masango, 2018 Head of Skulls (yes, that’s a real title!) speak at the Skulls Breakfast were no doubt inspired by this approach, and will be looking forward to similar insights from this year’s Head, Tom Richards.
Tom is Chief Creative Officer of Havas Lynx in Manchester, where his boundless energy and passion for creativity has made a huge impact in a short time. In just three years since his appointment as CCO, Tom has grown the creative department to over 70, hired six new Creative Directors, and helped bring home 56 awards for the agency (including winning the prestigious Cannes Lions Healthcare Agency of The Year). He has judged on several prestigious award juries, including the Health & Wellness panel at Cannes.
He will be joined by a prestigious panel of jurors drawn from the worlds of design, creativity, production, film and sound to judge Perth’s best creative work.
